The useful question is what a CCTV installation includes for your particular property. Sentinel5 publishes guide starting prices for three types of system. These are our current configured starting points, not nationwide averages or a promise that every property can be installed for the entry price.
Home CCTV costs
Our home package guide starts from £495. Camera positions, the route from the recorder to each camera and access to the building determine much of the installation work. Two cameras on an easily accessible wall can be a different job from two cameras serving a detached garage. The survey establishes those details before a final quote.
Commercial CCTV costs
Small business systems start from £895, with the advanced/site guide starting from £1,495. A shop, warehouse and multi-building property can have very different cabling, network and recording needs. These starting prices are not a fixed specification for any particular camera count. Temporary hire and maintenance are quoted against their own scope.
What is the price of a four-camera installation?
There is no single four-camera price that fits every site. Camera type, mounting height, cable runs, recorder capacity and storage all affect the total. Use the calculator with four cameras to see an indicative installation range, then request a survey for a written quote. Package starting prices and calculator estimates are different planning tools and need not produce the same total.
What affects the price?
- Number of cameras and whether each needs a wide, close or specialist view.
- Resolution, lens choice, lighting and the recorder's supported capacity.
- Cable distances, concealed routes and work in finished rooms or ceilings.
- Height, safe access equipment and restrictions on working hours.
- Storage capacity and the agreed recording and retention settings.
- PoE switching, network separation, fibre links and connectivity between buildings.
- Groundworks or other building work where a new physical route is needed.
- Remote access setup, user handover and the documentation required.
CCTV storage costs
Recording more cameras, at higher average bitrates or for longer periods requires more capacity. Drive compatibility, recorder limits and resilience requirements should be checked together. Extra storage is quoted for the actual equipment rather than a universal price per day. Our storage calculator helps explain the capacity calculation.
CCTV maintenance costs
Maintenance is priced around the equipment, visit frequency, access and agreed support arrangements. A single-system health check differs from a planned service across several premises. Parts, emergency attendance and remote checks should be clarified in the quote. Contact us for maintenance pricing.

Send your postcode, property type, approximate camera count and a short description of the areas to cover. Existing recorder and camera model numbers are useful for upgrades. Following the survey, your written quote confirms the equipment, installation scope, any applicable VAT and the terms for the work.
