Find the fault before replacing the system
Camera offline? NVR not recording? Lost remote viewing? Sentinel5 can inspect and diagnose existing CCTV systems. Tell us which views have stopped working, when the fault began and whether anything changed on the property. A fault visit is scoped and quoted around the equipment and access needed.
CCTV Camera Offline
One missing camera can point to its power supply, PoE port, cable, network address or the camera itself. Several cameras disappearing together suggests checking shared power and switching first. We work through the connection path to separate a camera failure from an infrastructure problem. Start with our camera offline checks.
NVR Not Recording
A live picture does not prove footage is being saved. We check playback, recording schedules, storage status and camera connectivity. An unrecognised or failing hard drive needs a different response from an incorrect schedule. If footage may be needed, tell us before any changes: formatting a disk can erase recordings. See NVR not recording and hard-drive warning signs.
Remote Viewing Not Working
A replacement router, internet outage, changed account permissions or an app configuration issue can interrupt remote viewing while local recording continues. We check local access first, then the recorder's network and supported remote access method. Read CCTV app connection checks.
CCTV Image Problems
A dirty lens, reflections, condensation, poor focus or an unsuitable mounting angle can make a working camera produce weak evidence. We inspect the view in relation to the problem, including lighting changes after dark. Our night-vision guide explains useful checks.
Existing Systems Welcome
We can inspect systems installed by another company. Send the manufacturer and recorder model if known. Support depends on condition, available documentation, compatible parts and authorised access; we confirm what can be attempted before the visit. We do not promise a repair for every model or recoverable footage from every failed disk.
Book a Fault Visit
Tell us the postcode, symptoms and whether recording is still working. Optional photographs of the camera or recorder label can help; cover passwords, QR codes and unrelated personal details. Book CCTV Fault Support. For recurring checks, explore CCTV maintenance; if replacement is more practical, discuss a CCTV upgrade.
